SOLO ESPRESSO

The Bywater, in my opinion exists in rarefied air. Each and every time I walk around one of Nola's most promising neighborhoods, it occurs to me that there's something special going on down there. Artists and artisans, musicians, and numerous entrepreneurs are truly making the area into something very unique. One of the coolest spots to open in the Bywater is the coffee shop Solo Espresso.

ELIZABETH’S RESTAURANT

I find myself intentionally lost in the Bywater quite often as of late. Some of the best kept secrets in New Orleans food and otherwise are kept off St. Claude. Besides the fact that it's an up and coming area, I dig that it's the nouveau bohème. There is something special and unique about the Bywater.

Crescent Park – Photo Essay

It's been a long time coming, but the Bywater Crescent Park is now open and ready for strolling. Marked clearly across the Mississippi River skyline, the main entrance to the Crescent Park is the towering ironclad bridge located at the end of Piety Street in the Bywater.

The Saint Claude Index

We've been huge fans of Erik Kiesewetter & Co. at Constance for quite some time. Their first 2 eponymous self-titled publications were an ode to local New Orleans creatives and artists that continue to inspire. They certainly have a special place in our library. Since 2008 when they released "Delicate Burdens", they continue to design, produce, and publish well designed and truly covetable ephemera.

Hollie Fitzhenry

It was a pretty frigid morning when Hollie and i met up for our shoot at the Orange Couch. Shimmering with energy and excitement we set out into the cold to snap a few pics.

Webb’s Bywater Music

It had been at least 12 years since I picked up a guitar when I walked into Webb's Bywater Music a few months ago. At the time I was on sort of grail quest searching around town for the perfect axe to finally and seriously get back into playing.
