#BeATouristNOLA

Each and every year, during the dog days of summer, The City of New Orleans through the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau helps to shine a light on our city with the “Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown” campaign.

“Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown celebrates New Orleans’ wonderful things to do and see during the hot days of summer. It is brought to you by our sponsors and by the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.”

I have worked with the NOCVB for many years promoting why I love being a tourist in my own hometown. Throughout the month of August the NOCVB is running an Instagram contest challenging folks around town and beyond to post their best images of our city. Check out the details —> “Share your view of New Orleans using the hashtag #BeATouristNOLA on Instagram for a chance to win special prizes from New Orleans restaurants, businesses and attractions. Prizes awarded weekly!”

The NOCVB, running in tandem with #BeATouristNOLA, highlights some of the best restaurants around town through their COOLinary campaign —> “During the month of August, experience cuisine that delights your palate and is an integral part of the history and culture of New Orleans. This annual culinary tradition features specially priced prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus.”

I’ve been enjoying the images folks have been posting for the last couple of days, and I have picked out some of my favorite images from the hashtag #BeATouristNOLA. Check them out and follow all your favorites.

Audubon in the rain is my favorite ☔️ The sun proceeded to come out a few minutes later, though. Typical.
