It's been years, and I mean years since I had a really nice pair of sunglasses. Whether it's giving them away to friends and family in need or losing them after a long days at musical festivals, somehow or another, I've never respected them. Shame on me for not willing to adult. I recently gave my last pair away to a friend, and led me to ponder my ways and resolve to being a better friend to my vision and my sunglasses. This totally makes sense because as a photographer, besides losing my hands, my vision is most paramount to created content and in my opinion, just living. A few years back, I had an unbelievable experience at St. Charles Vision when I stepped into a new pair of glasses and I wanted to replicate that with my "big boy" sunglasses.
I had to make a few stops in Metry and I stopped in at their Metairie location over by Lakeside Shopping Center. Little did I know, they've recently completed an entire store makeover just a few months before my visit. I was super impressed. The showroom was spacious and inviting and they have such a great selection. Right on par if not better than the namesake location on St. Charles Ave. Uptown. They carry many standout brands like Maui Jim, Ray-Ban, Chanel, Peter Lindberg, local legends Krewe Du Optic, and my personal favorite and the brand I went with Oliver Peoples. Even though I usually wear the Persol eyeglasses I got from St. Charles Vision, I've always been drawn to the chucky and streamlined look of the OPs. The model I settled on rocks with Anti-reflective coatings and the winning feature, polarization. You can see the pair below.
With that said, the remodel culminates in the celebration of St. Charles Vision's 40th year in business. That's a tough feat in this business climate and it always comes down to service and support. St. Charles Visions has all the right pieces to be successful. They've always done right by me.
Tomorrow night, during Art for Art's Sake, St. Charles Vision would like to invite all of you in a celebration of their 40th Anniversary with their really brilliant campaign "Raise Your Glasses". Below that you'll see the photos from my recent visit.

Vintage as of late has become my jam. Whether it’s vintage film cameras and vinyl, vintage is where it’s at these days. I have to admit I’d prefer coping a great vintage pair of boots and jeans from a spot like our latest feature, Blue Dream Vintage Boutique, as opposed to any other big box or huge retailer around town.Read More
