We're at an interesting crossroads in New Orleans. Now more than ever, we're starting to see a serious influx of international boutique hotels popping up around town, and more importantly, giving folks a great alternatives to the grand and traditional Nola stalwarts. Brands like Le Meridien and Marriot are doing a fantastic job building out fantastic spaces and offering clean and modern amenities that are meant to full integrate within the culture and community. Located in the CBD, The AC is blocks away from some of the best food in the city as well as walking distance to the center of the French Quarter.
The rooms are spacious, modern, and outfitted with everything you might need. The storage is minimal and everything is well laid out. I know this is small, but I truly loved the USB jacks at either end of the bed and was great to just plug-in and re-charge. Even though I very rarely hang around a hotel when I'm visiting, but the AC Lounge is one of the most underrated hotel bars in the city. Equipped and well stoked to offer everything from craft cocktails to a great espresso. Finally, the AC absolutely has one of the best rooftop spaces and makes for the perfect place to sip a bourbon, watch the stars, and depending on the day, hear a brass band playing at street level.
