I can honestly say, I'm not quite sure why it took us so long to feature Dirty Coast. The folks at the helm have been steadfast in raising our hopes and re-fueling all of us with pride in our city. It's been years in the making, and now they are movin' on up.
It had been at least 12 years since I picked up a guitar when I walked into Webb's Bywater Music a few months ago. At the time I was on sort of grail quest searching around town for the perfect axe to finally and seriously get back into playing.
As a teenager there was not much that could tear me away from my baseball card collection. Seriously y'all, I was a dork. Each card had it's own special binder or plastic snap case to fit into, and I even went as far as writing a database to catalog each and every last one of them. At the time, I felt like a walking talking baseball card rainman. ( begin scene : obsessive compulsive disorder enters the room ).
As a young punk kid, there could not have been anything more exciting and rewarding as grinding away on a skateboard. I'll admit I busted my ass more than I was able to successfully preform a proper ollie, but there was nothing else like it.
