In recent years, recession years shall I add, diamonds and women are still friends, but no longer besties. Shoes have taken over as a girl’s best friend. I do remember Carrie Bradshaw being more impressed with the closet Mr. Big had built than the anticipation of him showing up at the alter. Most of my female friends can’t even imagine attempting to count how many pairs they own. It’s a woman’s consummate accessory. Nine times out of ten if a woman asks for more room in her closet, it’s not to fit another little black dress.

In the hour I spent with Abby, Imelda’s co-owner/buyer and her dog “Lux”, I realized this must be heaven for women. Several ladies strolled carelessly around the showroom wondering how they were going to make room for their new purchases, further cementing my initial deduction…shoes, are truly the new diamonds.
