It’s been almost exactly a month since I’ve posted a new feature here. Several things have been blowing in the wind and that could not have been avoided. Changes have come in life, and I’m now feeling even more dedicated to this site. NOLA as a city is a nurturing one, supported by locals as well folks who have made it their second home. It’s been over 60 days since The Gulf Spill, and to me there seems to no end to the damage being caused to our coast with each and every tide. Just like the Saints vs. Falcons 2006 in the dome, The Gulf Aid 2010 Benefit/Concert gave everyone a much needed a break from reality and to feel good about something.
My good friend Julia Pretus contributed the photos for this feature and she did a masterful job. I wanted to finish by saying thanks to everyone for reading the posts here and I hope you enjoy what’s to come in the future. Stay tuned for some really cool stuff this year at iHeartnola.com

Great essay & photos Scott.
Thanks very much, but the lovely Julie Pretus took the snaps! http://juliapretusphoto.wordpress.com/
