It’s not very often that I go into a women’s clothing shop deliberately.  On a recent trip to one of my favorite spots on Magazine Street, Buffalo Exchange, my friend suggested we go check out Hemline first. She was in the mood for a new dress and it seemed like the perfect fit.

As I walked through the door, we were promptly greeted with a hello and smile. The exposed brick walls provided the ideal backdrop for the common colored arrangement of dresses, tunics, and the like. Pieces in eggplant were matched up with contrasting colors on one side with the vibrant blues and greens on the opposite.

Generous selections in jewelry are spread around the shop along tables as well as mixed in with it’s very well matched outfits. Hemline also offers a varied selection of sandals, heels, and wedges (thanks Katie for the heads up on those).

The thing that really stuck with me when visiting Hemline, was the quality and the construction of the garments. Each item I spotted, was very well made with great detailing and seemed well worth the very reasonable price tag.

Where Hemline truly shines is in their customer service. Patient and insightful help is what each person who entered the shop received with smiles all around. With 10 locations around the South, and 3 of them right here in the NOLA area, their success is a true testament to the personal touch they offer.
